Tomorrow is a Free Dress Down Day!
50th Jubilee – Fr. Marut will be celebrating his 50th anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood o Sunday, May 5, 2024. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM with a reception immediately following in the school gym util 2:00 PM. Parents and Students are invited to attend. If you are available, please stop and celebrate with us! The students have a separate celebration planned later in this month.
Testing – State testing finishes up with Science Testing (grades 5 & 8 only) next week.
May Procession – Friday, May 10 at 12:45 p.m. This is a DRESS UP day! Uniforms are not required for the May Procession as it is a dress up (not dress down) day. Boys should wear collared shirts and dress pants, and girls should wear sensible shoes (no flip-flops or high heels) and no spaghetti straps or short skirts. If students do not have suitable dress clothes, they may wear their uniforms. No jeans, sweats, or shorts please as this is a very special occasion honoring the Blessed Mother. The May Queen and Attendants for this year will be announced soon.
Nature’s Classroom Grades 5-8 – All paperwork is due back by May 7. Any student who does not attend will need to be in school those days and will have work to do to make up for the learning missed during this field trip. Students in the past have had a wonderful and it is a memory they have for the rest of their lives. Please Note: Because of the long and tiring days, only the students attending Nature’s Classroom will have Thursday, May 16 off to recuperate.
Walk-a-Thon for St. Jude Academy – Friday, May 17, the students and faculty are participating in our annual walk for charity. As usual, we are asking for a donation for St. Jude Academy in Kenya. If each student/family would pledge $5.00 to $10.00, that would give us a nice addition to our Lenten collections.
Eighth Grade Graduation – Tuesday, May 21 at 6:30 PM, reception to follow in the gym. Grades 5, 6, and 7 are strongly encouraged to attend to sing in the choir. If students have ballgames, please submit your game schedules to the school office for verification. Everyone is invited! All outstanding balances, fees and/or tuition must be paid in order to participate.
Preschool Graduation is Wednesday, May 22 at 12:30 PM in St. Mary’s Church. A small reception will follow in the gym. All outstanding balances, fees and/or tuition must be paid in order to participate.
2023-2024 Yearbooks – Get your yearbook now! The cost is just $12.00 each. The order forms were sent home last week. And we only have 20 left, so order right away if you haven’t already done so!
SchoolBelles – A representative from SchoolBelles will be here tomorrow May 3rd, from 9:00-11:00 for fittings for uniforms for the 2024-2025 school year.
Flower Sale – Flowers will be available for pickup on Wednesday May 8 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM in the St. Mary’s parking lot.
Registration and Financial Aid Information for 2024-2025 – The registration fee is $100 per family as of May 1st. Please note the following:

Friday, May 3 will be our free Friday dress down
Thursday, May 9 is a GREEN House green dress down in observance of Our Lady of Fatima’s Feast Day
(no other dress down coupons may be used)
Thursday, May 16 is our LAST required uniform day.
Friday, May 17 is the walk-a-thon and a free dress down – NOON DISMISSAL
Monday, May 20 is Mass at 10am and will be an earned dress down day
Tuesday, May 21 will be a free dress down
Wednesday, May 22 – Field Day & Last Day for Students (NOON DISMISSAL) – Student are to dress down in their assigned class colors: K – gray 1st – black 2nd – pink 3rd – purple
4th – white 5th – red 6th – green 7th – blue
School Picnic – Wheeling Park – Friday, May 24 11:00– All are invited – We will provide hot dogs, a variety of chips and drinks. All reservations must be in by Monday, May 20 so that we know how many to prepare for. See the flyer included in your brown envelope for more information.
SMC Decals – We have our gold and black St. Mary Central Shield stickers available for $3.00. They are approximately 5”x4” and perfect for the back window of your car or anyplace else that you want to show off your St. Mary Tiger Pride! Send your money to school in an envelope marked SMC Shield. We will send the stickers home to you that same day. See the shield below!
Don’t forget to bring your Cardboard and Paper Recycling to St. Mary Central.

- Scholarship and Tuition Assistance applications will be sent home after we receive your complete registration (Tuition Contract and Registration Fee). You must be enrolled to have the applications submitted for assistance.
